Performing Arts in North Carolina

Kinston, NC-native and NCCU /Aaron Copeland School of Music grad Brian Horton will bring his talents to Cary’s Sertoma Amphitheatre in Fred G. Bond Metro Park for a free concert as part of the Town’s Sertoma Series. Presented in partnership with the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, the July 13 concert will showcase the Brian Horton Quartet’s wide variety of gritty jazz and blues originals. The concert begins at 6 p.m.

“Voted one of the best jazz bands in the Triangle, the Brian Horton Quartet will be a real treat for guests looking for a night of inspiring blues and soul,” said Sarah Preston, Performing Arts Coordinator.

Sertoma Series concerts require no tickets, and are free and open to the public. While picnics, lawn chairs, blankets and leashed pets are welcomed, alcohol is not permitted. In the event of inclement weather, real-time concert information will be available at (919) 462-3969 starting three hours in advance of the concert.

Upcoming concerts as part of the 2013 Summer Sertoma Series include the Hollow Crown, a theatrical concert with showings August 1-4, and John Dee Holeman on August 10.
