Performing Arts in North Carolina

CARY, NC – The Town of Cary is offering two chances to enjoy the beauty of Bond Park this weekend with two free concerts at Sertoma Amphitheatre as part of its seasonal Sertoma Series. On Friday, June 14, the Triangle Wind Ensemble will take the stage at 7 p.m. The returning series performer plans to present, “Summer Pops,” a mix of wind and percussive pieces. In partnership with the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, the tunes change Saturday, June 15, when folk singer/storyteller Erin McDermott takes the stage at 6 p.m. Prior to performing in Cary, the Vermont-native was showcased at the 2012 IMBA World of Bluegrass.

“Bring the entire family out to Bond Park for great times with great people in the great outdoors,” said Sarah Preston, Performing Arts Coordinator. All Sertoma Series concerts require no tickets, and are free and open to the public. While picnics, lawn chairs, blankets and leashed pets are welcomed, alcohol is not permitted.

In the event of inclement weather, real-time concert information will be available at (919) 462-3969 starting three hours in advance of the concert start time. Other upcoming concerts as part of the 2013 Spring/Summer Sertoma Series include the Triangle Brass Band on June 28, special Independence Eve Celebration on by the Cary Town Band, and the Brian Horton Quartet on July 13.
